Big Dirty Rock
Bec – Drums/Lead Vox
Jacqui – Guitars/Vox
Kristy – Bass/Vox
Spoon fed a diet of punk, rock, and metal, this super heavy three piece all the way from Wollongong write funny songs that are a bit political. Loud and fast, their live shows are stroke inducing, knee busting, beer spitting fun!
They have supported the likes of Tumbleweed, Cosmic Psychos, The Meanies, Lime Spiders, Magic Dirt, The Haggard (USA), Partyline (USA-ex Bratmobile), Limp Wrist (USA), The Coathangers (USA), Acid King (USA), and Screaming Females (USA).
Babymachine released their foetal album ‘Birth Is Imminent’ through their own label Toxic Shock Records back in 2003, and followed it up with a long overdue second album ‘Appetite for Reproduction’ in 2011. The album, recorded at Birdland Studios in Melbourne, is 12 tracks of big loud dirty rock guaranteed to please. Themes range from rampant consumerism, the Cronulla riots, a tip of the hat to John Cooper Clarke and frustrated housewives to rocknroll and an Ironmaidenesque musical interpretation of Virginia Woolf’s novel A Room Of One’s Own.
The band are currently working on their third album.
“You girls make L7 look like Devon!” (Random bloke at Wombarra bowlo show) – Disclaimer – we totally love L7!!
“If not the greatest album of all time, certainly a contender!!” (Pat from Jacqui’s old work speaking about Birth is Imminent)
“Like a cross between the Cosmic Psychos and Kath and Kim!!!”(Random punter comment)
